Rain Tells a Story

Rainy Days & Haunted Pages: Finding Inspiration in the Storm

There’s something about the rain. I’m inspired by the way it taps against windows like ghostly fingers. The mist swirls over roads and streets. It feels like an invitation, calling forth shadows and secrets. For a writer, rainy days aren’t just weather. They’re a chance to slip between worlds, where flickering gaslight and haunted carnivals await. In that rain-soaked world, stories rise.

Harlequinade: The Carnival You Can’t Escape

Some stories linger past the final page. They settle in the bones, turning over in the mind like a ghost that refuses to rest. My upcoming book release, Harlequinade, is one of those stories.

Pre-order Harlequinade, the upcoming horror fiction release by Tricia Arnold. The cover features Brickles, an evil entity posing as a harlequin clown. It also features Annie, a white streak of clown makeup on her face. This is a horror period drama.

Set in 1901, Harlequinade follows the Willetts & Parker traveling carnival. It’s a show unlike any other. Its painted wagons roll forward, filling towns with unease. Among its cursed performers is Annie, a melancholy clown who suspects something watches her. Then she discovers the truth.

Behind the scenes lurks The Harlequinade, a sinister force pulling strings and orchestrating nightmares. Brickles is a monstrous Harlequin clown who does not tolerate deserters. As the carnival tightens its grip, Annie realizes that no one quits the Willetts & Parker Show.

Annie must face the chilling truth: this carnival isn’t a spectacle. It’s a graveyard of souls, all puppets in Brickles’ undead Harlequinade. And he’s found a place for Annie in his show.

Harlequinade will be released on June 30, 2025. The prerelease is available on Amazon! Step into the nightmare before the curtain rises.

Coming Soon! Draekkon King: A Draekkon’s Fire Prequel

Storms don’t just bring whispers of ghosts. They remind us of forces beyond control, shaping destinies whether we want them to or not. In Draekkon King, power takes the form of King Solanzir. The first dragon king of Cintarzia, his ruthless rule is met with rebellion. While he forces the world to bow, nobles, elves, and druids plot war. A witch lingers in the shadows, her presence twisting his fate. Even ruthless kings have hearts that can be claimed.

As the factions move against him, one question remains: will his reign be eternal, or will the dragon fire that built his empire consume him?

Draekkon King is coming soon. Brace yourself for another story in the Cintarzia Series.

Let the Rain Write Your Story

Rain speaks in chapters. If the rain finds you today, write, read, create something that lingers.
